Professional Qualifications of Jeff Simpson, P.E. Area of Expertise Jeff Simpson is the owner and principal of Criterium-Simpson Engineers in Charlotte, N.C. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer with over 20 years experience. His office specializes in residential and commercial building inspections, reserve studies, structural condition surveys and failure investigations and analysis. Qualifications Prior to starting his own company, Jeff worked as Senior Engineer for a local roof consulting company. He was responsible for determining existing roof conditions, including the roof support structure, production of detail drawings and specifications for multiple roof renovation projects. He was responsible for the administration of various project bid, contract, close-out documents, and on-site inspections during the reroofing process. He was responsible for annual roof audits for Duke Energy Corporation and several local school systems in both North and South Carolina. Jeff was Project Engineer and member of the senior management staff for a local window and door manufacturer responsible for the functions of standard product design, custom product design, quality assurance, and field service. He was also responsible for customer shop drawing production and resulting in-house manufacturing drawings. He introduced an architecturally correct 'No Rot' line of window products as well as completing many design enhancements to other existing products. Jeff worked as an engineer supervising various phases of construction of a $19 Million dollar turkey processing plant expansion. Jeff was Product Engineer for a door hardware manufacturer responsible for the development of an improved and cost reduced version of a hydraulic door closer/holder from concept into production. U.S. Patent No. 4,793,023 was issued to him on December 27, 1988 for the invention of this devise.
