Photos of Typical Structural Defects

The corner of the house has settled about 5/8" causing the step crack. Photo 1 (Enlarge) The steel jackpost is rusting badly.

Additional support has been installed to take springiness out of the floor. This works but is not a permanent repair.

The joists and girders are rotted due to the crawlspace not being vented properly.

Water on the bathroom floor has caused severe rotting of plywood sheathing and joist.
