Piers Under the Center of a Two-Story House Settle

Synopsis

Poor soils cause the piers under the center of this older house to settle. This results in sloping floors. In addition, undersized floor joists in the kitchen area causes the kitchen floor to sag. Repairs include adding a foundation drain, drop beams to reduce the joist spans, and several new piers.
